Clinical Use

Applications

Pupillary-distance and vertex-distance measurement for refraction, spectacle dispensing, lens-centration preparation and optometry workflows in optical shops, hospitals and ophthalmology clinics.

Digital Pupillary Distance Measurement for Optical Dispensing

The PD-800 digital pupilometer is designed for measuring binocular and monocular pupillary distance during refraction and spectacle-dispensing workflows. An operator views the patient’s corneal reflections through the measuring window, aligns the reference indicators and reads the result on the digital display.

The instrument also supports vertex distance measurement, helping qualified optometry personnel document the relationship between the cornea and a mounted spectacle lens when required by the fitting workflow. A selectable target-distance control supports measurements for near and distance viewing conditions.

Clear Display and Practical Handheld Operation

The display presents right-eye, left-eye and binocular readings in a clear format. Separate measuring controls allow the operator to align each eye, while the forehead rest and nose rest help maintain a consistent measurement position. Adjustable LED target brightness supports comfortable fixation under different room conditions.

Battery operation makes the PD-800 suitable for use at dispensing desks, refraction workstations and mobile examination setups. Automatic shut-off helps reduce unnecessary battery use between measurements.

Applications

  • Binocular and monocular pupillary-distance measurement
  • Vertex-distance measurement during spectacle fitting
  • Optical-shop dispensing and lens centration preparation
  • Refraction-room and ophthalmology-clinic workflows

Operator and Ordering Notes

The PD-800 is intended for use by qualified optometry personnel. Clean and disinfect the patient-contact surfaces in accordance with the user manual, and perform the recommended measurement check before use. Confirm the supplied accessories, labeling and destination-market documentation in the approved quotation.
