Manual Phoropter for Subjective Refraction

The FO-600 manual phoropter combines manual sphere and cylinder controls, an axis-synchronized cross cylinder and a rotary prism for professional subjective refraction. Black and white housing configurations are available for optometry practices, refraction rooms and optical-shop examination areas.

Sphere and Cylinder Lens Ranges

The sphere range is −19.00 to +16.75 D, with a normal minimum reading of 0.25 D. Optional ±10.00 D lenses extend the range to −29.00 to +26.75 D. The cylinder range is 0 to −6.00 D in 0.25 D readings, extending to −8.00 D when the −2.00 D auxiliary lenses are used. Readings of 0.12 D require the appropriate auxiliary lenses and are not the normal base increment.

Cross Cylinder, Prism and Positioning Controls

The reversal-type ±0.25 D cross cylinder is synchronized with the cylinder axis. A ±0.50 D cross-cylinder option is also listed. The axis scale covers 0–180° in 5° steps, while the rotary prism covers 0–20 prism diopters in 1-prism-diopter steps.

Interpupillary distance adjusts from 48 to 80 mm in 1 mm steps with synchronized right and left movement. A 16 mm forehead-rest adjustment, scaled corneal-distance device and convergence setting for a 400 mm near distance support instrument positioning.

Auxiliary Lenses and Configuration

The auxiliary lens system includes an occluder, pinhole, fixed cross cylinder, red/green filters, Maddox rods, polarizing filters and a +2.00 D retinoscopy lens for a 50 cm working distance. The listed equipment includes a near-point scale, chart holder, rotating near-point chart, auxiliary lenses and dust cover.
