Manual phoropters: what to check before you buy
A manual phoropter (refractor head) holds spherical, cylindrical, prism and auxiliary lenses in front of the patient’s eyes so the examiner can refine the prescription during subjective refraction. It is a durable, power-free choice for refraction rooms and training clinics.

What is a phoropter used for?
It is used during subjective refraction to compare lens options in front of each eye and find the prescription that gives the clearest, most comfortable vision.
What does a synchronized cross cylinder do?
It rotates with the cylinder axis, making it easier to refine cylinder axis and power with the Jackson cross-cylinder technique.
Can the sphere range be extended?
Yes. Optional ±10.00 D lenses extend the FO-600 sphere range to −29.00 to +26.75 D.
